Running depletes alot of energy, so snacks are important to sustain energy, and keep her morale high! Snacks will be given to you ahead of time, and you must be ready to give her the snacks when you see her!

Richmond Marathon Spectator Message from Dani

This is me after completing my second 10K in Richmond (the Ukrop’s 10K)! The goal is to finish the Richmond Marathon with the same enthusiasm and energy. The Richmond Marathon is almost five times the length of this race, which is why being a Richmond Marathon spectator is so important!

Every person has an important role, and if everyone executes their role correctly, I can finish my marathon with the same energy I had in this photo! And that’s the goal!

I don’t want to end the marathon feeling “dead,” unable to walk, talk, or just overall giving bad vibes. Why? Because after I complete the race, I plan on cheering on any friends of mine who may still be racing and giving them the same energy I received!

Running depletes a lot of energy, so snacks are important to help sustain her energy and keep her morale high! Marathon day is a long day, and she will be burning through a lot of energy throughout the race. Having familiar, easy-to-eat snacks available can give her the boost she needs when her energy starts to dip.

Every mile counts, and having the right fuel at the right time can make a huge difference. Keep her favorite snacks easily accessible and ready to grab. Whether she needs a quick sugar boost, something salty, or just a little pick-me-up, be prepared to keep her fueled and moving forward!

But remember, timing matters! Don’t just throw a snack at her as she runs by. Pay attention to what she asks for and have it ready when she reaches your assigned spot. A quick handoff can save time and help her stay focused. Whether it’s a favorite candy, fruit snack, gel, or another go-to, your job is to make sure she has what she needs when she needs it. Small things like this can make a BIG difference over 26.2 miles!
